Rock Candy Valentines
This is a really cool way for pre-teens and teens to give a Valentine gift that isn’t “babyish”. These make great Valentines for babysitters and youth groups.SUPPLIES NEEDED:
2 (14-inch) Pieces of String
Tape
2 (4-inch) Circles of Aluminum Foil
4- by 7-Inch Strip of Pink Paper
2 Mini Peanut Butter Cups
Glue Stick
1 (1-ounce) Box of Conversation Hearts (or a box of M&Ms, Skittles, Reeses Pieces, etc.)
Sheet of white printer paper
DIRECTIONS:
1. Tape one end of a piece of string to a peanut butter cup.
2. Tape the loose end of string to the candy box.
3. Wrap each peanut butter cup in a circle of aluminum foil.
4. Wrap (like a gift) the pink paper around the candy box and secure it with a glue stick.
5. Cut a circle shape out of white paper and write Menu at the top. Make the Fast Forward and the Fast Back symbols (>> & <<) on either side. Write Play and II at the bottom of your circle.
6. Glue your circle to the bottom center of your wrapped box.
7.Cut out a square box from white paper.
8. Write song titles on the square for the playlist. (If you don’t know titles of popular songs, you can go to http://www.billboard.com/charts/hot-100#/charts/hot-100 (or similar site) and pull up the most popular songs out today.
9. Use a glue stick and attach it to the box.
10. Write a valentine message on the back of the box.
* These are completely irresistible to pre-teens and teens.
