Ice Candle Holders

These are perfect for lighting the pathway to your door whenever you are having an evening party. Expecting guests for a late dinner? Light their way with these beautiful ice candle holders.

SUPPLIES:
Water
Large Mixing Bowl
Plastic Yogurt Container (or a container similar in size and shape)
A Cupful of Small stones or Coins
A Freezer or Place to Freeze The Water

Ice Candle Holders are as cold as ice, but it’s guaranteed to cast a warm, welcoming light on a winter night.

DIRECTIONS:
1. Have your child(children) pour a couple of inches of water into the mixing bowl.

2. Place it in the freezer (or outside) to freeze.

3. Fill the yogurt container with the rocks or coins.

4. Center the yogurt container on the ice in the bowl.

5. Slowly pour more water into the bowl so that it nearly reaches the rim of the yogurt container.

6. Let it freeze solid.

7. Remove the lantern from its mold by running warm water on the outside of the bowl and the ice should slip out.

8. Dump out the contents of the yogurt container and fill it with warm water to loosen it.

9. Remove the yogurt container and place a votive candle in the opening.
