Easy Spice Rack Craft
This easy spice rack is a great house warming gift, college graduation gift, wedding shower gift or door prize/hostess gift. SUPPLIES NEEDED:
Baby food jars (or other jars that are similar in size)
Drill w/bit ( same size as screws)
Small screws
Strip of wood (size depends on project)
DIRECTIONS:
1. Wash and dry your jars completely.
2. Use these jars for spices by adding your favorite spice to each one.
3. Decorate each jar to match your decor. This can be done by using Craft paint and painting simple designs on the jars. If you are not artistic, you can just paint circles or stripes in the color of the recipients kitchen.
To make a great spice rack
1. Take a narrow piece of wood and drill small holes in the lids of the jars large enough to fit the screws.
2. Drill the same size holes in the wood, leaving about 4 inches between holes.
3. Screw the lids of the jars to the piece of wood then attach the wood to the under part of a cabinet.
4. Once the wood is secure, you can now screw the jars to the lids.
* Now you have a cute spice display and the jars aren’t taking up any room. This project can be used to organize many things, jewelry, hair accessories, nuts and bolts, etc.
* If this is a gift, screw the jar lids to a separate piece of wood that can be attached (nailed or screwed) to the recipients cabinet bottom. If the recipient’s cabinets are a certain color, paint the board to match them before attaching the lids.
