Clay Pot Reindeer
Gather your terra cotta clay pots, or a plastic plant pot and make this whimsical clay pot reindeer. They make great gifts and adorable table decorations.
SUPPLIES NEEDED:
Terracotta Clay Pot or Plastic Plant Pot
Brown Medium Pompom and a Small Red Pompom
Red Pompom or Small Wad of Red Tissue Paper
Goggle Eyes
Craft Fun Foam
Gold Pipe Cleaner
Red Thin Ribbon
Silk Holly Leaves or Use What You Have
DIRECTIONS:
1. Paint the pot brown if it’s not already brown.
2. With the pot turned upside down (wide opening down) glue on the goggle eyes.
3. Glue on the medium brown pompom and glue the small red pompom on the top of the clay pot.
4. Draw a Reindeer ear onto fun foam and cut out (Rounded at the bottom like a 1/2 circle and an upside down “V” at the top with a curve instead of a point).
5. Starting in the center of the pot, glue the ears on to the pot.
6. Bend the gold pipe cleaner in two loops and glue it in place, in front of the ears (this makes the reindeer antlers).
7. Add holly leaves or other Christmas foliage.
8. Tie a bow from thin red or green ribbon around the rim of the clay pot.
VARIATION:
Why not make a herd of reindeer and use them as place settings on the Christmas table?
