Cinnamon Scented Dough Ornaments
These ornaments are so easy to make that in ten minutes you can be decorating your tree with ornaments that fill the air with the scent of cinnamon. Your children will have fun making and decorating these great scented dough ornaments.
All you need to make these ornaments is equal amounts of applesauce and cinnamon. You can start with two cups of each and make more if you need more.
1. In a medium bowl, mix your equal amounts of cinnamon and applesauce. Stir until mixture forms a ball.
2. Put your cinnamon ball on a piece of wax paper. With a rolling pin (or whatever you have available) roll out you dough to about 1/4 inch thick.
3. Use cookie cutters or a toothpick to cut out shapes. Using a 10d 2-7/8 nail, poke a hole in the top of your dough ornament. Make sure your hole is big enough to thread ribbon through but small enough that the hole won’t break easily. Be careful not to make the hole too close to the edge or it could break.
4. Let dry on a piece of wax paper.
5. Once dry, you can paint them or leave them as they are.
6. Thread a piece of ribbon through the hole and tie a bow. If you prefer, you can use an ornament hook instead of ribbon.
* Your done! Enjoy the scent of cinnamon throughout your house!
* This craft takes about 10 minutes to make and about 24 hours to dry. Paint after the 24 hours and allow and hour or more for the paint to dry.
