ANYTIME PLACEMATS – Kid’s Can Make

These easy placemats are a fun way to get your children involved with the Thanksgiving dinner planning. Maybe you just need a project to keep them busy as you prepare the menu for the big day.  Your children will enjoy being part of the preparations for the big day.

SUPPLIES NEEDED:
Construction Paper
Contact Paper
Scissors
Markers, Crayons or Colored Pencils
Elmer’s Glue

DIRECTIONS:

1. Choose 8 ½ by 11 inch piece of construction paper in Autumn colors like yellow, orange and red.

2. Your children can decorate the construction paper with markers, crayons or colored pencils. They can also cut shapes out of other construction paper and glue them to the fall colored construction paper.

3. Once they are done with their creations, set aside to dry.

4. Now stick a piece of contact paper or clear sticky paper on top of the construction paper and another on the bottom of their picture.

5. Cut off the excess around the edges and you have yourself a spill-proof placemat.

* You can use any paper to make these but Construction paper is thicker than other paper so it works better.
